Not really, but kinda.
I bought a new car today. Yea, but I mean NEW. Like... I drove off the lot with it with 12 miles on the odometer. TWELVE MILES! I'm up to like... 35 now, having gotten it home from over the hill...but I don't think anyone in my family's bought a BRAND FREAKING NEW car before... the Geo was bought the same year it was manufactured...but at the end of the year, and it'd already been owned.
But yea, turns out I found a more-than-decent car for less brand new, than some of the used SUV's I was kind of thinking about. Plus, that Honda CRV I was so interested has gotten FREAKING HUGE in the last few years.. like... Fat. Like the Ford Explorer... And I'm a midget, so I might as well have gotten into the driver's seat of a bus.
My Dad and I (omg, daughter father bonding ftw... the old man earned a few brownie points today) looked at a lot of cars in about a half dozen lots for almost four hours... but this was literally one of the very first cars we looked at, and it was a damned tough act to beat.
No one could beat it.

Plus, the salesman looked, dressed, and talked like Cramer from Seinfield. Definite plus. But he wasn't a crazy hyperactive Cramer... he was totally laid back and cool. And knew his stuff. I had one lady from another dearlership who couldn't even give me exact MPG numbers for any of the cars she was selling. "ooh, I think it's in the 20's"
Well durdy dur hurr... 80% or more of the cars in today's market get a 20 in there somewhere... Plus she kept coughing and wheezing, and neither of us wanted to shake her hand...Hello~ Swine Flu! (even though I'm vaccinated XD )
Then we met some other douchey car salesmen and went back to the Cramer guy (who's really named Chris, btw...)
Turns out the car guys must be pretty desperate because we were able to scrape off $1000 off the sticker price, and get a free CD/MP3 adaptable Radio/Stereo system for free, without any haggling whatsoever. In fact, my dad simply suggested the free stereo, and Chris went back and asked, and came back immediately with the "OK"
It's REALLY weird to be the only customer at a car dealership this time of year, on an absolutely beautiful day like we had today. Got a pretty low interest rate (with the help of Dad co-signing on the car's financing) too.
Buying cars is NOT supposed to be this easy. If I wasn't so happy, I'd be a little creeped out. But it's a good car: has good ratings and AWESOME gas mileage, and the UMPH to get up that beastly hill I commute over.
Meet my new 2010 Hyundai
Accent
The color is called "Sapphire Blue" but we noticed that (and you can kinda tell in the photo- that's not so much the reflection of the pavement as the actual paint color) it's got kind of a purple sheen to it. So I've named it The Blueberry XD
I LOVE my little Blueberry XD
OH...and for those of you who might be wondering what happened to my Geo, have a look:

Notice the steering wheel on the passenger side floor. TT_TT
The poor little thing can still be fixed, like I said...but it's gonna take some serious work. >.< Poor baby.
